The Stained Glass Project brings youth, young adults, volunteers, families, and community partners together to serve the city we call home. From food insecurity, and neighborhood projects to home repairs, nonprofit partnerships, and hands-on mission work, we look for practical ways to meet real needs throughout Arlington. We believe loving our community means showing up for it.
Real Life. Real Faith. Real Community
We believe service should respond to real needs, not simply create another project. That means listening first, partnering with organizations already doing meaningful work, and bringing people together where their time and effort can genuinely help. One project might mean stocking a food pantry or cleaning a park. Another could involve building beds for children, repairing a home, constructing an accessibility ramp, or helping a local nonprofit accomplish something it could not do alone.

Our Mission Starts at Home
Arlington is more than where The Stained Glass Project is located. It is the community we have chosen to invest in. We want to know our city, understand its needs, and work alongside the nonprofits, schools, churches, civic organizations, neighborhoods, and community partners already making a difference here. Our goal is simple: to show up where help is needed, serve with purpose, and give young people meaningful opportunities to strengthen the community they call home.

There Is a Place for You to Serve
Service is one of the easiest ways to become part of The Stained Glass Project. Depending on the project, opportunities may be open to youth, young adults, families, volunteers, and members of the broader community. Some projects are designed for all ages, while others may require specific skills, ages, or safety precautions. Anyone serving in a role that involves direct work with minors will complete the appropriate screening and background-check process.
You do not have to be part of one of our regular programs to help us serve Arlington.

Cost
Local service opportunities are free to participate in, while mission trips or certain special experiences may have costs associated with travel, lodging, meals, or activities.
